Dear Band Families,
Because organizing takes place during the summer, we need to collect current information for EVERY 2020-21 SLOHS Band member for planning purposes and so we can contact students and parents with important information. This information is only for internal purposes and will not be shared publicly.
PLEASE FILL OUT THE FORM EVEN THOUGH BAND CAMP HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR. If you do not fill out the form, we have no way of contacting you over the summer about important SLOHS Band info. Also, information such as T shirt size and instrument is important in order to order Travel Uniforms and to organize instrument sections.
Donations
We do not receive any funding from the district to pay for most of the travel expenses and events/competitions that the band typically participates in during the school year. We do not know what kind of events and competitions we will be able to particpate in during the 2020-2021 school year, but hopefully we will have a few. These essential learning and bonding experiences are made possible by the financial support of the SLO Instrumental Music Boosters Association (SLOIMBA). While SLOIMBA organizes multiple fundraisers throughout the year, donations from band families typically form the majority of the funds raised. It costs around $600 to support one band student for the entire year. We encourage all band families to donate $200 at this time if you are able. It will be put towards the next event we are able to participate in.
