From Diane Dzukola, SLOIMBA President:
Our students are having fun and working hard at Camp Ocean Pines. Special thanks to our brave chaperones Cristina Diederich, Nisha Abdul Cader, Jackie Kinsey, Andrea Surfleet, Matthew Green, Mark de La Garza, Brian Dzukola, Russell Kasselman, and Jim Heintz for volunteering their time to keep our students safe and happy. Also a BIG thank you to Andrea Surfleet who has tirelessly compiled the band roster, email lists, Sign-up Genius, and permission slips to make this all happen.
Under the abundant leadership of Ana O’Sullivan, we fit 79 students in band uniforms in two and a half days!! That’s a record for us! Special thanks to all the helpers who organized, fit, ironed, steamed, sewed, and bagged each of the uniforms. A lot goes on behind the scenes and we greatly appreciate your help!
Big thanks to everyone who donated the yummy for breakfast and snacks. Shoshannah Galambos did an outstanding job with the food, setting up the tables each day of camp at SLOHS, coordinating with Camp Ocean Pines for food allergies, and setting up the Pizza dinner for the last day. Thank you, Sho, for keeping our students safe and well fed!
One final thanks goes to our illustrious band director, Sharon Jeskey, who has spent many days and late nights during the entire summer organizing, planning, securing music coaches, and filling out paperwork to get us to this point. It’s a big job and we appreciate all the extra hours she puts in for our students.
